At Summer’s End

At Summer’s end a smile can put you to blame, like a Trojan war in the heart of the seeker.

Nor blue or green eyes will tell you a secret, like a closed smile emotion remains hidden even in laughter.

Eyes like diamonds take you into trance, a hysterical heartbeat makes the body tremble.

But being so caught up in fear the blood would not run to the soul when a vague indifference keeps the body from uniting.

One seeks punishment, one seeks forgiveness, imagination into confusion, blue-green diamonds pairs a soul’s desire.

At Summer’s end a smile breaks illusion.
