Her emerald green eyes always laugh, Her smile is open, ears ready to listen. Compassion a natural instinct with no reason to outcome.
One look to each other I smile to this Irish beauty, new and familiar. I cover my smile, as she holds me from an all consuming passion of lust, for she is an unexpected presence in my life.
Considering the long-term danger of desire, subduction and temptation being a powerful motivator, I know the price of lust can be unfulfilling. So I take the time to get to know this new soul.
I take a clue from the past, feeling she makes me smile, I take a step back from my overthinking mind and I keep a secret, locked in the treasury that’s my heart.
Feeling blessed, I leave no room for drama but sensing a little upheaval in my tummy, I fear falling for the unexpected and unplanned.
So I confess to a listing ear my thoughts and feelings, uncovering fear that needs a prayer for healing and a tear of relief for the heart can’t cherish what It can’t believe.
As it leaves the fool to wander, the brave to fall and the poet to write words he doesn’t know how to express and action less in the presence of her new friend.
As a shooting star bights up the night-sky, the poet cuts true her clouded mind to seek the clarity in her torn heart, scared to be vulnerable. For now only leaving words unwritten, still to be uncovered.
